I have this HORRID trunk noise... it's a combo of chirping and rattling... but it only happens when I'm going around 40-60, so I can't isolate the source while not moving...

Any ideas here? I'm thinking about WD-40'ing all the trunk joints and the little hydrolic things.

 

Most of the time you can fix it by adjusting the strike plate of the hatch and putting a little Vaseline on the rubber pads the trunk rests on when latched.

 

Before going through too much trouble, you might make sure your jack and other various parts aren't loose back there..

Yeah, ****, I've been having the same problem, but I've gotten used to ignoring it. I was going to do some quality work on the weather stripping on both doors and the hatch to make everything close real smooth. Well, maybe not like a Porsche, but smoother than the 10 year old insulation its got now. Glad somebody posted on it.
