Troubleshooting
So I took my FD out for a drive last night. I got on it a bit, and at maybe around 4000 RPM in second (just enough to feel the boost kick in), it suddenly lost power and started running really rough. I pulled over and the second I let off the gas, the engine died and wouldn't start back up. I didn't have any tools with me, but I didn't find any blown fuses or disconnected vacuum lines. It was about midnight, so I just got towed home and didn't mess with it too much. Now today I've looked over the car and can't really find anything out of the ordinary. It still turns over (although sounds more sluggish now) and is still getting fuel. Replaced 3 of the 4 spark plugs (waiting on the penetrating oil to work its magic on the last plug), but is there anything else I should try? I've only had my 7 for about 2 months now, so I'm still learning about them. Oh, and my car only has about 41,000 miles and is super clean, so I don't think apex seals would be out yet.

typically if the a map sensor line comes off you can start it but it runs a rough and smokes from super rich idle. Check the map sensor that's bolted to the fire wall and see if the line is disconnected.
Pretty hard to hurt or blow the engine in 2nd at 4k rpm.
What's your setup and is it possible you over boosted?

With fritz on this. I'd be impressed if it blew at 4K and barely any boost unless you have underlying issues.
If the map sensor is disconnected it would run like total garbage, but it will run. Last friend who has a rotary that wouldn't stay running unless he held the throttle ended up being a blown motor. To rule this out right away, bang out a compression test. Even if it's just pulling the plugs and feeling the pulses with your hand.
Once we rule out compression, it'll make it easier to troubleshoot down to maybe a stuck injector or something :P

Setup is mostly stock. Pod filter, catless midpipe, and exhaust are the only mechanical things done to the car. Running stock boost. Car ran perfectly fine up until this happened, so I don't think the culprit would be one of those issues that happens gradually. I messed with it a bit more and now my starter isn't engaging
