In hindsight, that's probably why shimming helped. I bet you don't even need the shims now.

No Shims on the sensors now.

The size of the sensors that I got are actually a little narrower and stubbier than the ones I pulled off the car (Maybe new design?).

I saw some pics of other guys builds with crank wheels that were even grimier than mine, so maybe I was just OCD about it.
