Tripmeter issue

A few days ago I was replacing the head unit and in order to do this I had to remove the old head unit and mess of wires that were left there by the previous owner. While removing the old mess I found out there were some shorts in the existing radio wiring, so basically I rewired the whole radio and boost controller (mounted in the other din). After doing all that my tripmeter has started to malfuntion. Every time that I shuit the car down the tripmeter resets to zero. The odometer is fine. It still counts the miles racked up on the previous drive and seems to be functioning perfectly. Once the car is running, the tripmeter records the miles, its when the car gets shut down that it resets to zero. Can anyone shed some light on this situation?

Your head unit is still working? When I first had my car i was having the trip problem too. I remember when i was installing my headunit in the car (didnt have one when i bought it) i couldnt get it to power. Found out that my fuse was blown. When i replaced the fuse the headunit started working and so did my trip. When you rewired the headunit did you still use the same wires to power it or did u run it from another fuse?

I ran striaght from the battery because its mounted inside the cabin. I guess i'll check my wiring.

IIRC the interior light should work off the same fuse as well.If THAT isn't working then it's definitely the fuse.I have the same problem, but I keep blowing mine,so I gave up.Good Luck
