My friend has a FD that makes noise when he shifts at higher RPM. I know what you're thinking... grinding 'cause the synchros are gone. Every gear... well except 1st. I haven't tried 1st. It's not grinding. It's making a groaning sound before it drops into gear. If you give it a good tug while it's making the sound it'll grind. I'm guessing the synchros are making the noise, but why? The transmission has Mobile1 in it. I know some companies like Redline make different oils for diffs and trannys. Maybe the oil should be changed?
