Transmission ID

Any way to accurately tell what year a manual trans is? The car is a 94 but I've been told the trans is a 93. Need to overhaul it and want to make sure I know what I'm working with.

Not easy to tell. There are some parts that were updated from one year to the next, but even telling them apart side-by-side is not easy.
