trans problem

I have a 94 Rx7 I just put a trans in. We bled the clutch and never could get a good pedal and when it does get any kind of pedal, the car it sounds like something is ratting around between the motor and trans. Does the throw out bearing have to snap into the ring that is around the clutch somehow? If so, how do you do this with the transmission in?

You need to read up on the pull type throwout bearing. It's usually easy, after you install the transmission you use a screwdriver or pry bar to push the throwout bearing into the pressure plate so it locks in.

Go to the 3rd Gen FAQ, look under "C" for "Clutch" and there is an install video.

It's also easy with the clutch slave cylinder removed (3 12mm bolts IIRC). Use a loop of coat-hanger or heavy twine to reach thru the slave hole and get around the arm of the clutch fork. With one hard quick pull it should snap into place.

^^Good point. You will need to pull the clutch slave to release the pressure on the clutch fork to get the TB to lock into the diaphram.

Yup. I believe there's an access window to do this.
