tranny filler plug
I am having the hardest time getting the filler plug off or even lose on the tranny. it is the square head bolt above the smaller drain plug. I have tried different sockets and the only thing I got is an open end wrench 14mm that will snuggly fit the bolt and I can't get the **** lose. anybody got any ideas. I used some bolt remover liquid and nothing. do they make a sqaure head socket? I am fucked if I can't get this off. I have already drained the fluid. need help please.

the corners of the square head bolt are a little stripped and can't get a 12point socket to grab the bolt. I plan on replacing the filler bolt if I can ever get it off.

Too late now, but you should ALWAYS remove the fill bolt first. That way if you have trouble with it you can slow down and get a tool or whatever.
Might want to try a torch on it to heat it up. There is some sealant on the threads that makes it "sticky".

yeah I realize I screwed up by draining it without removing the filler bolt first, you live and you learn, now I need some good ideas to get it off. heat up and expand huh. great. what kind of torch should I try? any other ideas? damn.
i just used vice grips but mine came off very easy...def let it run for a bit and then jack it up and then take it off shouldnt be too bad if not get a piece of pipe thats long enough to break it lose with ur wrench make sure it fits under ur car
Well, you learn by doing. Like others, I used my wrench and wacked it with a hammer. Be sure to get a new crush washer too when you replace the bold. I also used a little high temp silicon to help seal it up good. On a side note, IMO it always helps to read up really good on any project you haven't yet done to see what others recommend doing and how to avoid snags they ran into to make your project as smooth and easy as possible. It's the whole reason the forum is here - not bashing on you though, I've learned the hard way too. Good luck.
