tranny filler plug

I am having the hardest time getting the filler plug off or even lose on the tranny. it is the square head bolt above the smaller drain plug. I have tried different sockets and the only thing I got is an open end wrench 14mm that will snuggly fit the bolt and I can't get the **** lose. anybody got any ideas. I used some bolt remover liquid and nothing. do they make a sqaure head socket? I am fucked if I can't get this off. I have already drained the fluid. need help please.

you have to drive the car around or let it sit to get the tranny metal to expand, then its a piece of cake to get it off.

already tried a hammer to the wrench to get it to lose, no luck. I already drained the fluid, what do you think I should do now. I can't START the car without tranny fluid in there can I? I don't want to damage anything. not drive it just start it in nuetral. damn.

the corners of the square head bolt are a little stripped and can't get a 12point socket to grab the bolt. I plan on replacing the filler bolt if I can ever get it off.

I used a wrench with another wrench at the end of it for more leverage. It took a while and all my strength but I got it loose.

Too late now, but you should ALWAYS remove the fill bolt first. That way if you have trouble with it you can slow down and get a tool or whatever.

Might want to try a torch on it to heat it up. There is some sealant on the threads that makes it "sticky".

I would just do dales method... But if you want... a propane torch is the softest heat you can get out of a torch... just get the extended torch head so you can get up there.

Well, you learn by doing. Like others, I used my wrench and wacked it with a hammer. Be sure to get a new crush washer too when you replace the bold. I also used a little high temp silicon to help seal it up good. On a side note, IMO it always helps to read up really good on any project you haven't yet done to see what others recommend doing and how to avoid snags they ran into to make your project as smooth and easy as possible. It's the whole reason the forum is here - not bashing on you though, I've learned the hard way too. Good luck.
