Question TPS Reading/Issue Help Please

Hi everyone,
to cure a number of minor issues we've been checking out the TPS on the FD this afternoon... problem is i'm getting some REALLY strange readings!

i should have (the four stacked vertically):
ground - 0 volts
signal - changeable between 0 - 5 volts
power - constant 5 volts
signal - changeable between 0 -5 volts

what i have is!
0 constant
0 constant
5v constant
5v constant

i removed the plug from the sensor to see what that did... probing the plug itself i got the save readings so they must be coming from the ECU right?
thats one signal reading full close, one signal reading full open!? thats gonna cause ALL my issues at the moment.

so, am i just doing this wrong? or does anybody know of anything that could cause this? the harness looks 100% intact... so don't think it is shorting wires or anything like that.

stumbling
hesitation
erratic idle
high idle
airpump irregularities
clicking from exhaust
smoking from cat - related to airpump

did you have to take apart the TPS to fix the internal spring or did you just buy another TPS for replacement? Please elaborate if you can. TThanks

Sounds like he took the TPS off for whatever reason and didn't install it correctly. You have to align the TPS in a way that the springs will have tension.

i had left the TPS on the throttle body the entire time i was rebuilding... something must have messed up internally for some reason i don't understand.

i had to take it off, realign the pins and reverse it to get the right voltages.
fun, but my god so worth it!
