Too much play in steering?

Hi Guys,

I noticed there is a bit of play in my steering and just wanted input as to whether this is normal or not?

I'd expect it to be the top uni under the brake booster.

Should be a topic on here about it from a few years ago, there's basically a pin holding the uni joint to the hollow tube in your steering shaft, with age and wear - and probably low speed parking manoevres - slop develops.

I wouldn't use the fix suggested there myself, was contemplating drilling it out, but did find a decent lower shaft with both unis good and boots not disintegrating from inadequate heat shielding in the spares. Once that is rectified, the driving experience is much better!
