tips on removing rear bumper
is there any one out there that has removed a rear bumper on a 93 rx7 i cant remove mine dont know how can anybody please help me i tried everything yall r my only hope and thanks alot
Its been years honestly since I have removed one. I know there are some really tricky 10 mm nuts you have to get to by wedging your arm way down inside of the rear hatch by the rear tail lights. I am pretty sure the tail lights must be removed also but I cant remember
Open hatch, remove the taillight and center garnish covers, remove the taillights and garnish, there are two bolts under each taillight and five under the garnish to remove. There are three nuts to remove on each side where the bumper connects to the fenders, the top two you get by reaching down from inside the hatch area and the bottom you get from under the car. You'll obviously need to take the reverse lights off too or reach up and unplug them before removing the bumper.

You really need to remove the hatch side trim panels to access the two interior bolts on each side. The really fun part is that you need to remove the front cabin quarter panels to remove the rear hatch panels fully - though you may be able to just bend the hatch panels out of the way after partially removing them.
Look at the FSM for the location of the interior bolts. They are not too hard to get to with the trim panels removed. Some humans may be able to get to the bolts without removing the panels but I would not recommend it.
However, the FSM fails to mention the two white clips on either side that need to be forced out. These are a %^&% to prise out a require a surprising amount of force.
Removing the rear lights also requires a top secret trick.
