Throttle wire for AVCR

Hey guys,

Without Dale's site, I need some quick help installing the AVCR. It needs a throttle signal, and I'm not sure which wire is appropriate. In the schematic, there are two wires coming out of the TPS and going to the ECU (see pic below). Can I use either, or is one or the other correct?

And yes, I searched .

You want the wire that connects to pin 3G on the ECU. According to the diagram you posted, it will be Black/Green.

Yeah, I saw that, the problem is that you never know which way they put the diagram, from the wire side of the connector or from the pin side of the connector, and unforutnately in this case, if you assume it's one way, it's one of the wires shown in the diagram. If you assume it's the other way, it's the other wire shown in the diagram.

Thanks guys.

If you want to double-check, here's how to tell the difference. Get a multimeter and measure the voltage between the Black/Green wire and ground. When you open the throttle about half-way, the voltage should be around 2-3V. At full throttle, it should increase to about 4.5V.

There are two TPS wires going into the ECU. One is a 'full range' that will read about 0.5-4.5V between 0-100% throttle. This is the signal you want to monitor with your AVCR.

The other is a 'narrow range' signal that will read about 4V at 50%-100% throttle. In other words, the narrow-range sensor doesn't tell you anything useful above 50% throttle. On the diagram you posted, the wire should be Green/Red.
