Thoughts About this Weird Pink Color?

Turbos are leaking/spewing oil- enough to somehow make the outside of the Y-pipe oily.

It's leaking from both the primary and secondary- more so on the secondary.

I pull the turbos:

This is a close up of the top of the downpipe (notice the gradual shift to black):

Mine looked like that the last time I had things apart. I run Mobil1 and mostly Sunoco gasoline. What are you running?

looks like you've got a case of the ol' cheese powder syndrome. For future reference: Kraft parmesan injection is NOT equal to methanol injection.

I don't have much experience with rotories, however, I've seen cheese powder syndrome in piston engines that have been burning Coolant.

I was gonna mention "CheesePowder" syndrome but people would not have taken my thread seriously.

Conditions:

>Runs on 91 octane at Chevron/Costco.

>Mobil1 5w-30 Full Synthetic

>Does not consume coolant (80/20 mix with Water Wetter)

>No additives such as octane booster (other than the Techron in the gas)

>Boosts perfect 10-8-10

>Running HKS Twin Power

>Been poor on the gas lately (went from 17~22 to 12-14.5)

>Rotary Performance Flashed ECU (from back in the 90's!!)

Oddities:

>Very light glowing downpipe after long drives.

>Used to have intermittent episodes of what seemed like no trailing ignition (struggling idle at half regular vacuum). This turned out to be an ignition wire connection that was loose.

Looks like your exhaust was getting very hot. Between the mpg and glowing downpipe I'd guess you've got excess fuel burning in the exhaust.

Yeah, mine looked like that but it got better after I had my injectors ultrasonically cleaned.
