what did you use as a solvent to clean your parts? Did you use a particular solvent for cleaning particular parts or just one solvent for everything?

We use mineral spirits in our parts washer at work, it works fairly well on everything. Don't forget to wear rubber gloves, my Pop works for Safety Kleen, and he says you don't want to regularly expose your skin to the stuff, or Bad Things will happen!!

 

advance auto sells a 5 gallon bucket of stuff specifically labeled for a parts cleaner for like 35 bucks. i think its just mineral spirits.

 

Does anyone else use other solvents? 5 gallons for $35 seems a bit pricey.

 

I use a citrus (biodegradable) degreaser. I don't remember how much money it was..
