Question for those with FMICs.......

How much of a bitch is this installation to do? How the hell does a FMIC mount? Can you retain the air conditioning, I am hoping?
I'd really like to know as much detail about this as possible, including what all moves, what can stay, plumbing and wiring issues if any.....

Thanks.

I did the Apexi FMIC about 2 weeks ago. It wasn't too bad. Did it all myself. It took me about 2 full days to do. You will be able to keep everything. The only change was I had to move the battery to the driver side storage compartment behind me and I had to lower the conderser down about 4 inches. The radiator had to be moved to the vertical position right behind the ic. All of this is explained and illustrated in the manual and comes with all the necessary brackets to do the job. If you get a BMK you could probably keep the battery in the engine bay. I have a rather extensive stereo pushing out close to 1000 watts so I need a larger battery and decided to relocate it. Not a tough job either. I would say if you got a good set of basic tools and mechanically inclined I would go ahead and do it.

You can keep a stock intake? Or do the I/C pipes have to go down thru that area? What about the undertray?
I really want to keep a nice clean, sanitary engine bay, I don't want it to look cobbled up. I am assuming that most of these FMIC kits, such as Greddy or Apex'i, have high quality hardware that use primarily stock mounting points?
I guess what I am saying is that most of the pics of Forum members' cars that have FMICs look really good, but I don't know if there was a lot of hand fabrication involved, or just how much of a "bolt-up and go" task it really is.

Once again, thanks for the replies so far, but more detail would be appreciated.
