Is this how you reply to this message board? WIll find out soon enough! (i'm new and just figuring out how this forum works)

Thanks for all who posted responses, I still have not gotten the info on the warranty form our friend, but I probably will soon. My car has 64K and my warranty just ran out, I would like to renew/buy additional warranty.

Regarding door handle, I will try to fix myself as recommeded.
The handle is completely lose, there is no resistance whatsoever so something may have come lose (Ihope).

Pettit says that if my engine/turbos go, it will cost $7,500 to replace. Any comments?

Thnks to all; again.

Bruno

rebuild costs

Well $7500 is a little steep to say the least. On the rx7 list I'm always complaining about people saying it is only ~$2000 for a rebuild, that is just the block alone, not a good install of a rebuilt motor. Here is a quick breakdown, some stuff will be overlooked I'm sure but I've got the major price hitters in there.

Mazda rebuild ~$1800-2300 depending on the source
New clutch ~$450
clean injectors $100
All new hoses, plugs, wires, belts, fluids, t-stat, etc~$400
Clean radiator, oil cooler ~$100(?)

Prices on turbos can range widely:
cheapest is $0, yours might be fine
~$600-800 for rebuilds
$2000 for NEW turbos from Mazdacomp

Labor cost? I dunno...

Worst case is $5350 in parts, figure $2150 for labor might be sorta steep IMHO...
