Thinking of buying a 3rd gen RX-7, need some help

Hi, awesome lookin site you have, was wondering if you could help me with some questions i have. I am shopping around for a new car to pick up, and have narrowed it down to two, a new wrx or a 3rd gen rx-7. most of the rx-7's i have found are in the 70,000+ miles. how reliable are these cars at that high of mileage, this car will be my one and only dailydriver, all day everyday, not a track car only, so reliabilty is a must.

also, what kind of et's are these cars putting up stock? im not a stranger to most auto boards, and i have seen a plethora(sp?) of stories of super low et supras and rx-7's, but never really stock. Also, whats it take to hit low13s maybe high 12s?(thats where i want to get and stay) and anywhere i could read some information on rx-7? my mom had an rx-3 way back when, and loved that, so i figure this car can only be better! and plus, it looks sooo badass.

anway thanks again

i would suggest you do a search on this subject or look back a few pages because it's been discussed quite a few times. you should also check out www.rx7turboturbo.com/robrobinette for info on buying/problems/etc. if you want a reliable car i'd suggest a wrx. most rx-7 are at least 8 or 9 years old now. they are just plain getting old and things are starting to wear out. having said that the rx-7 kicks the wrx's *** performance wise anyday

Reading this leads me to think a WRX would be better suited to your needs. WRX are great cars and quite capable. I do want to point out that RX-7s are reliable but they take alot of care and the fact that all RX-7s now are used you NEVER know what you are gonna get. That's why you buy NEW! Either way let us know how you make out.
