thinking about buying an rx-7 >93
can anyone give me good advice on what to look and listen for when buying one of these cars. how much should i pay for a decent reliable / good conditioned rx7 94 and above. is there anything anyone can tell me to make sure i dont buy an lemon. also has anyone ported an 3-rotor in to the american rx-7s, i heard the states only had the 2-rotorys.

a 94 in good condition could go for anywhere from $16k-over $20k depending on the area, color, options, manual or auto, etc.

It depends on the level of your patience with finding a good car. If you are patient, than don't take any of the info on those sites lightly. Do the compression test, and deffinitely do the boost gauge test. It will let you know if the turbos are working properly taking a lot of the guess work away in deciding whether or not the car is running right. When I first test drove my car, I didn't know jack and ended up buying a car with a huge boost leak. Of course I didn't know this at the time, actually, I didn't know this until two days ago. Bottom line is do your homework, trust us. Run a Carfax report too. Just give us your VIN and someone will go out of their way to help you out.

The 3 rotor was never offered in ANY RX-7 from the factory , the only factory 3 rotor production car was the COSMO coupe.
In the US, Petit Racing & Peter Farrell Supercars both do 3rotor conversions, but expect to pay $35k+ to get one on the street.
