Things you should check before buying an FD?

hey, im looking at an fd right now and chances are i will be buying it. But i was wondering what are the most important things to check before buying it.
compression? what is it supposed to be?
is there any areas more prone to rust then others?
Also should the idle fluctuate?
any input is helpfull.
thanks!

Welcome sir, I can see so easily that you are definitely new to this forum AND to rotaries. So before anyone can flame the hell out of you, let me give you some advice. Learn to use the "search" function before asking any question BECAUSE many topics can be found already thoroughly discussed in many other threads, this saves everyone a lot of trouble.

P.S. the question you have pop ups in this forums approx. 2-3 times a week so here is a link to help you get started with almost everything you need to know before buying an FD.

here is the link---> https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=68640

Also, before you do ask yourself these questions...
1. Are you willing to possibly spend at least 3,000 dollars for a rebuild if the motor fails?
2. Do you have $3,000-5,000 in the bank or in your piggy bank to pay for any completely spontaneous problems your FD could and most likely will sometime have?
3.If you are young, can you even afford insurance for this car?

I cannot stress this enough but... BE MOTHER ******* CAREFUL AND DO SOME REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING ONE... If you know nothing about these cars then don't buy on until you know a really good amount about them. Anyone on this forum can tell you the SAME THING, just ask around..
