thermostat?

Which way does it go in? I took it out and then 10 seconds later went to put it back in and I forgot which way it goes? Does the spring side go toward teh engine or toward teh front of the car? I looked in the shop manual but it is not clear and I just want to make sure before filling the system back up.
Thanks

Spring goes in the engine. It should only go in one way. If you have a Mazda T-stat make sure to put the "jiggler pin" at the 12 o-clock position.

It helps bleed air from behind the thermostat. It will take longer to burp the system if it is in the wrong position or if it is an aftermarket t-stat.
