I tried it with a heat gun... can't do it properly...

I'm in the process of getting the car repainted and tried the heat gun. Didn't do it for me so I'm getting a new cover from Malloy Mazda for $480.00.

I think it's the heat from the engine that warps it. Now that my car is cooler with DP and better air flow, that should eliminate the warpage. Just in case though, I'm putting in additional foam support.

Go to your local metal supply house and buy some flat 1/32 or 1/16 inch aluminum plate for "warping" issues on the curved sections. You might even find some scraps for free. Ask.

You'll need to get a little creative, but with a little metal shaping and cutting with your gloved bare hands (and maybe a little pounding) and some epoxy you can coerce the skin back to original shape by gluing your "formed" aluminum on the back. Use the thinnest plate that will cure your problem. You'll need to clamp it for a few hours to let the epoxy fully set. Use a two part epoxy SPECIFICALLY made for bonding plastic, you can buy it at any ACE. Soften up the skin with a hair dryer before you bond and clamp, do NOT use a heat gun.

A panel beaters bag (which is just a leather sack filled with sand) is really usefull for shaping the aluminum for tight radius or complex curves.
