Testing short block for water leaks

Hi Guys,

Is it possible to test out a short block for water leaks before assembling everything else and putting it back inside the car?

*I believe last time I messed up seating my water seals correctly which caused coolant to poor into my combustion chamber when cranking, so this time around I would like to perform some sort of test before assembling everything.*

^Yep, I have one, use it on every motor I build. Also, when you stack the motor, get a light and get down so you can watch as you bring the center and end iron down onto the stack, making sure the seal stays in place and doesn't jump out of its groove.

I pack the coolant grooves with Crisco, push the seals into the grooves, and they stay put.

As mentioned above, Pineapple, Atkins, and probably a few others sell a tool to pressure test the block for water leaks. We test every motor we build.
