Testing one way valves

Is there a way to test one way check valves? For example the one that runs from the turbo pre-control solenoid to the vacuum chamber. Would the method for testing this check valve apply to all check valves?

you take them out and blow into the direction the arrow points.... then the other side.... if you feel your breath come out on the opposite side of the arrow then they are bad

am i right?

Sometimes testing like this is a bit inconclusive as you are relying on a very inaccurate 'pressure comparitor', i.e. your mouth, to make the assumption if there is ANY bleed-off or not.
I suggest either hooking up a small pump and short length of hose that has a pressure gauge on it, and pump it up to 5 psi or so and then watch it for a minute or so.
If you DO decide to just blow thru it, hook up a short length of hose, blow thru the HOSE, not the valve as your lips make a better seal. And you could take a cigarette or something else that has a smoke trail and use it to see if the valve is leaking by directing the exit of the valve towards the smoke.

or. . .if you have them off already to check, you could just replace them with the really good (and inexpensive $15-$20) sets that Dale Clark sells and not worry again for a long, long time!
