TEN & Grnd Wire burning
Hi guys (again),
I'm putting back together my engine swap, and while pulling codes from the ECU (jumper TEN & grnd), the wire at ten and ground was burning when I turn on the key to read the code. And no code was read.
I'm scratching my head, it used to happen on the car before I did the swap, but now it's happening again.
To trouble shoot it, I took off the rat's nest (engine wiring harness), alternator, all relays at the relay box at the front of the car (radio, a/c, fuel pump), removed fan fuse (just in case, my car had the fan recall thing) and narrowed it down to the EGI fuse at the main fuse box. That is, if I remove the EGI fuse, the wire doenst burn, but the ECU ain't working either when the fuse is pulled.
The wire doesnt burn if I dont ground the thick black/yellow ground wire at the driver's side engine.
I've also seen some sparks when I connect up the negative battery cable to the -ve battery post.
Anyone seen this weird behavior before? Thanks!

One of those wires is shorting out somewhere. If the wire is burning, it's getting too much current.
