temp gauge sensor

i was wondering where the factory temp gauge sensor is, is it the wires the run behind the water pump? im tryin to install my greddy temp gauge, but from the things iv read, u hve to drill into the coolant neck..cant u just take out the factory one and put the greddy one in there?

I simply removed my factory plug on the side of the thermostat housing, and you can get a direct bolt in setup for that location. I would not remove the stock temp gauge. Leave it as is and either tap your t-stat housing, or replace the bolt on the side with a temp gauge sensor. Not sure what size it is though.

For the gauge or the ECU??????

The gauge temp sensor is located under the oil pressure sending unit (Under the oil filter)

The ECU temp sensor is located in the thermostat housing.
