tell me what this part does
it is the "denso ignition assem." on the drivers side of the engine bay. what does this part do? and also, what is that relay (i think it is a relay) that is grounded to the ignition assem. do?

A Mazda manual would help you a lot! You can learn much by reading.
It is the ignitor, or in other terms a transistorized switching unit to turn on/off the three ignition coils.
The little black box is a capacitor.
