tell me what I forgot, motor guys
Just put the Mazda reman in Sunday and everything checks out beautifully so far with one exception. I am hearing a noise I can best describe as a continuous cricket chirp as I get into the throttle. It begins as I roll into the power but stops if I get on it harder or back off.
No lights or turbo problems; but since I am still breaking in the motor I have yet to get into the secondary. The primary is perfect.
Seems like I recall someone explaining that something under the manifold could create this noise.

I went back through the manual last night; I think I knocked a hose off the ACV. It is active at the moments I hear the noise as it is only used between 2000-4500 rpm if I remember the book correctly. I will check under the UIM tonight.
