Tell me if my Catalytic converter is toast or not please!!!!!

Ok I had my ner turbos installed last week and I wanted to put back my catalytic converter on because of the boost spikes I was experiencing when giving full throttle. As you man know I have the downpipe, midpipe, and catback combination along with the KNN drop in filter. So anyway once the turbos were installed, they inspected my catalytic converter and the guy said its toast!!!! I said how can that be when this car just passed air care last April? Anyway to prove that it was no good he just showed me with a light and put it inside the hole that goes into the catalytic converter and there was a filter net that just had a medium size hole in it!!!! now does that mean that the converter is toast? I need this converter and if it is toast can I still put it on? because I diffinintly need the back pressure to stop these spikes I am getting. Well this harm the health of the motor or the Turbos if this Main cat is put on? I already have a downpipe to reduce heat to the engine and the turbos? Whats your guys is call and assessment of my main cat?

That mechanic is pulling your leg or is an idiot. Open up a cat and you will know what I mean. Sometimes people simply drill holes in their cats to get less backpressure and still pass a visual examination of the exhaust system. Use the cat, it should work just fine.

yeah i know, i was just a little aggravated last night. i agree that the converter is alright. so people hollow out the converter. by ramming a rod threw it. so i dont think that a hole on the inside is gonna cause a problem.
