Question tearing it down to build it back up

im tearin off the uim tonight to replace the intake air thermosensor and to inspect the lines on the air pump ( could be cause of boost problem causing a honda to be able to smoke me ( how embarssing)). any way does any one have any tips to takin that sob off im pretty good at workin on cars i had a ford probe and any one who had one of those knows you spend more time under the hood than driving it. i just havent got into my rx7 like that yet.

I just went through the exact same thing for the air intake thermo sensor. I wasn't having boost problems exactly(as in full 10lbs), but I wasn't getting much power at WOT over about 4K rpm. I think it was running pig rich up there.

I was also totally failing emissions.

Replaceing the Air Intake Thermo Sensor made the car MUCH more responsive, smooth, and got back the power in the upper range.
