TB Seal?
I took off my TB to clean it and it wasn't too bad, but the triangle shaped seal was sort of wasted so naturally I ordered a new one. I'm new to auto work so I'm still learning all I can, but while browsing on the forums here I saw a picture of someones TB and I noticed a seal that wasn't even on my TB. Looks like it goes between the manifold and the TB. The previous owner of the car rebuild the engine himself and it doesn't look like he was very thorough because I've found quite a few things that shouldn't be how they were. Anyways I wanted to know if I need this seal and what kind of problems it might cause if I don't have one, because I DON'T. I'll order one right away if i need it, but I attached a pic of the seal. Thank You for any and all help.

Okay never mind I found my answer through other means, but thank you anyways. Sorry for the bunk post I realized it was a dumb question. I guess this maybe a factor in my shitty idle.

LOL, yeah, if there's no gasket there, that would be an issue. The previous owner must have been drunk not to replace it. IIRC, there was an earlier and later design for that gasket...and it looks like you've got the later design. Make sure you've got an 'O' ring for the t-body to elbow seal too. It shouldn't be a bad job, but if working on cars is new and you haven't already, step #1 would be to download the Service Manual from the stickys. Good luck.
As a side note, If work and family schedule work out I'll be coming through your neighborhood late next month enroute to a little mountain driving.

Yep I have all the manuals and diagrams I need I think. I did order the O ring too. It was sort of trashed. Mountain driving? You headed to Colorado? Feel free to stop in Scottsbluff and grab a bite to eat. Not that there's anything special to eat, but its always nice to chat with another 7 fan.
