So I am going to put stainless lines and HP+ pads on my RX this weekend, and I am curious how to do this without completely draining the ABS and having a nasty bleed to do.

1. is there any way to keep the system from getting air in the hardlines?

2. What is the procedure? Do I just remove the caliper, then remove the stock lines, then put the new SS lines in? What torque should I be using?

3. How should I bleed the brakes afterward? I have a Miti-Vac or whatnot, so should I just open the bleeder and start sucking all that I can, while someone else dumps brake fluid in the resivor? Something about having the key on or whatnot to activate the ABS or something?

4. What anti-squeal should I put on the pads to keep the squeal down on the pads? Does that orange goo do the trick?

5. I was thinking about rebuilding the calipers, who had a kit to do that, or who can I mail them to to be rebuilt?

No matter what, you will have to fully bleed the brakes when you install the SS lines. Do a search on brake bleeding - it's been covered to death. It's actually a good thing to get nice, clean, fresh fluid in the system!

I just use whatever caliper anti-squeal is handy - never found one better than another. Just use a nice light coat - you don't need to glop it on.

Unless you *need* to rebuild the calipers, I wouldn't fool with it. The fronts aren't too hard to do yourself, haven't messed with the back. There's a writeup somewhere on caliper rebuilding, not sure where.

Save yourself some money and just have a friend sit in the drivers seat and hold the brake down.... I find it much faster and easier than fiddling around with all those rubber lines and junk..
