Suspension upgrade

I am leaning toward a suspension upgrade in the near future.

I was thinking of going with Tokico illumina gas shocks and get some RSR downsprings as well.

what do you guys think about this set up ?

That would be a good street/track set up. RSR's spring rates are on par with the Eibachs w/o lowering it as much.

1 more thing

When purchasing a strut package say from Tokico and then purchasing springs from RSR, will I have any issues of how the car sits?

For example should i be concerned with the car sitting to hi on 1 side? or will the car be flush on all 4 corner?

I have herd stories where people mix and match struts and springs and their cars are not even on either side. For example .. More clearance between tire and fender on one side of the car then the other.

Is this normal when mixing and matching springs/struts?

FWIW, I don't think you'll find the RSR downsprings anywhere. I tried for a while, and as near as I could tell, RSR is not making them anymore for the FD. You will see them on a number of suppliers websites, but when you order them they will tell you they can't get them. I called RSR and they didn't think they were going to make them anymore.

Alternatives would be Eibach Pro, or Tein H-Tech. I just put the Tein H-tech and Tokico illuminas on a few weeks ago. I like it so far.

Also, I did see someone selling a set of Tokico Illuminas and Eibach Pro springs used here somewhere. Looked like a good deal to me and I would have gone that route if they had gone up for sale before I bought mine. I also saw a set of Tokicos being sold here on the sight. I think it was $330 plus shipping.

You shouldn't have any problem with even heights if you install them correctly. You may want to consider buying new OEM spring seats ($65) and new upper spring mounts.

Why not save up for coilovers?

What do you typically use the car for now, and what do you plan to do with it? (i.e. weekend fun car, auto-x, road racing, drifting)
