surging and shutting off

I am having a problem that I thought a new dashpot would fix but that did not help. My 93 starts right and drops down to an idle. But when I come to a stop the engine rpm drops and it shuts off. It starts right up again. This is more pronounced when the engine is cold and less so when the engine is hot. I thought it was the throttle closing too fast and that is why the dashpot. I have an Apexi FC and I have set the idle up. Do I have a bad idle air controller? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Hey George,

go to the sensor check screen on the pfc. Then push the clutch and check to see if the switch comes on the pfc. While you are at it check the brakes and neutral switches.

I would suspect the clutch switch needs cleaning and a new spring.

i hope this helps.

Set you fuel cut restore to come on sooner. The screen on the commander where you can set idle speed, go to the f/c settings and put them all to 1500. See if that works

Do the the above 2 post first, then try cleaning and bench test your IAC. I was having a similar problem and after doing all of that, I pressure tested my engine and figured out it was a busted coolant seal.
