My car is all stock.. When i changed the spark plugs i just thread them in by hand and then turn them once with a socket wrench. Should I tighten them a little more?

Why haven't you gotten rid of the pre-cat?

I dont have a garage. Or the right tools. She just barely past smog so I think if i get rid of it it wont pass. hey ryneburg do you know of any places that have a fuel fillter for fd in the bay area?

It probably only barely passes smog because your car's not running right. You can pass with a streetported motor, a downpipe, and a hi-flow cat here, if everything is running correctly.

You can get a fuel filter from any Mazda dealer, I've also heard that the Purolator replacement model is the same thing, which can be purchased at any auto parts store.

Almost guaranteed your problem is the pre-cat and most likely main cat by now. If you don't have a garage/tools, then you'll have to pay someone to install the downpipe. If you can't afford that, you shouldn't be owning this car. It's that simple. Let's face it, if you are delivering pizzas, you probably shouldn't be owning an FD....
