Sunroof differences

Hey all. Anyone out there with the non-glass sunroofs. I was told that thing is plastic through and through. Is that true or is the exterior portion sheet metal? I was thinking about switching from glass to shave off weight and give the car a different look. How much would the difference in weight between the two types of roofs be

Exterior is sheet metal. The non-glass would prolly be a great deal lighter since glass does tend to weigh a great deal more than sheet metal...

I have a metal MB sunroof panel I'll trade you for the glass one. Still has the black headliner in it.

Roughly 10 lbs heavier for the glass, based on shipping weight.

You don't think much about the difference until you've lowered the metal and go to raise the glass roof with one arm, while trying to get the hardware started with the other.

So what has to be changed between the two? Just the metal panel for the glass panel or are there differences in the frames for the two types?
