Sunroof botton repair, dome light removal.

Alright well my sunroof switch took a crap for the closing function, still opens it but the switch broke on the close side of the switch behind it somehow. I need to know who to remove the dome light assembly without destroying the dome light or the headliner. Any help would be greatly appreciated since the search engine for this site blows.

There's two metal tension clips, or whatever they're called, on each end that hold it in there, just pop it down and unhook the wire harness. You may need to kinda work it slowly, just so it doesn't crack the headliner (knowing how brittle some have become).

The whole panel actually comes off, pops off. I took mine off yesterday and it does the same thing... It actually closes but it takes awhile and takes some pressure on the switch to do so. And it seems like when it's cold outside it takes awhile to close but when it warms up, it closes normally without the pressure.

You probably just need to clean out the switch. I tried taking it out yesterday and found that the switch is actually underneath two wires that are crossing between the two dome lights. You'll know what I'm talking about when you pop it off. I just need to figure out how to take the actual switch off without damaging the wires. There are four small phillips screws holding the actual switch.

I'll let you know when I get the time to work on it...

good luck...

While you're there can you please check what type of bulb that is for the dome lights? I want to change out mine for some LED's since I'm redoing my whole interior with LED lights. If you can that would be great.

Thanks

Yeah for sure, The switch doesn't "click" for the closing side so I'm thinking something popped loose, we'll see i guess.
