I got my MBC's working a few days ago. Ended up just removing the boost solenoids. Gets a 10-8-9 boost pattern now, instead of 11-15-11, and runs great. I also vacuumed the inside.

took rack out, de-powered rack, going to weld it up in the morning, re assemble, then tear engine apart and get item stuck in chamber...

A great day !

Today I installed some RZ seats into my car. After sitting in them I think Mazda missed the mark by not putting them in a lot more cars. They are very comfortable and make much better use of the space in the cabin. As a 6'1" guy, I can stretch right out in the passenger side now.

These seats came out of car I recently bought to get some nice parts from. It was advertised as a Black RX-7. When I went to see it the fellow indicated it was some touring model with a larger gas tank. Somehow I keep from smiling to much and paid the man and loaded up the car. Kinda like the story of an ad in paper advertising an old chevrolet for sale and finding out it is a split window corvette. Turns out this is a Mines Motorsports tuned RZ that needs water seals.

I will admit, it does feel a bit sacrilegious pulling the RZ parts of it. Kinda like killing it somehow. But, someone will get a nice R1 equipped car out of it.

p.s.- car for sale in Canadian classifieds

Would have kept the actual RZ and just put all the goodies into it.

Cleaned the interior a bit since i sold my JDM rear seat. Gonna prep the rear for the rollbar.

Should i install dynamat so i dont have to see the bare metal??

I drove mine to work. Thats more than some people can do on these forums.

LNF_AJ 07-28-12 01:19 AM

Worked on getting the stock diff out for the 8.8 swap.

Evadrepus 07-28-12 12:48 PM

Installed dual oil coolers with Aeroquip AN-10 SS hose. The Summit Racing socketless hose and fittings are garbage.

D.Adams 07-28-12 01:04 PM

pics anyone ..

Are you referring to their house brand of hose and fittings?

Quite a number of FD's run that may not be suitable for driving to work.

Evadrepus 07-28-12 02:35 PM

Yes, the Summit brand socketless although I will never use a socketless hose of any brand again.

My FD has had Aeroquip socketless hose and fittings for 5 years with absolutely no issues.

This.

While that might be something i would say just to be a dick lol, you have a valid point.

My FD runs, runs great actually. Besides the shitty suspension and little nick nacks that i need to address, the car will go anywhere. Do i trust it? Prob not. I probably have a 50 mile limit per trip in case i get stuck somewhere, at least i wont be too far from home.

But apart for that, i can take my FD to work, but i wouldnt want to. The roads are terrible, the cops are dicks and in the parking lot, people park SUPER close to each other. So why would i?? Makes no sense.

Luckily for me work is only a 10 min drive, and I work on a Navy base, so I don't really have to worry as much about the parking issue. I just park as far away as possible from others.

Pretty sure I found my oil leak & fixed it. Primary turbo oil return gasket was not in the correct place. Then replaced brake pads on rears, installed stainless brake lines & speed bleeders. Found the drivers side caliper was frozen so now I need to replace it. Bled the passenger side. Noticed my drivers side rear tire is worn almost to the cord...I'm thinking too much camber.

10 min drive?

That's not really worth bragging then. I find it funny people say they can dd their car. DD by ANY standards doesn't mean one short trip ONCE a day.

I always laugh at the dd threads. They're like yeah I dd my fd. I drive it to the store everyday. Its 2 miles away. Lol

Some of you have no idea what daily driving is til you lived in places like Jersey, Cali etc.

I bought and used my Dewalt Rotary Buffer (DWP849X) yesterday for the first time. I polished the car and got rid of a few swirl marks. Got some pretty nice results out of it.
