CNC shop

hey your dad owns a cnc shop? ive been wanting to make some stuff, and try to sell it, for the FD.
what find of files do you need in order to have something milled out? what kind of materials other than dense foam can it cut?
i havent followed through on any of my ideas simply because I didnt have access to a machine that can do the work. Im busy with work right now thru the fall. Where are you located? Im in SanDiego.

Why not just get a piece of sheet metal and cut / bend it to fit? Then you could check clearances and angles or whatever else you need to check. It would be pretty easy, and that way you can get it to fit the way you want and you did all of the engineering yourself. Use that as a template to fabricate the real thing.

Because he wants someone else to figure it out for him, tell him what the measurements are, and what the angles are, so that he can create "HIS OWN" design

never said figure it out for me. Just asked to see if someone already knew.... there are thousands of people on this forum i just wanted to see if anyone has already made their own and knows how much clearence are under the FD hood. Going to go with sheet metal to find out measurements then i'll start fabricating it. i'll post some pics once its done

For anyone who is saying the $3 ebay one is weak, will bend, will crack, whatever...please show me a picture of this. I bought one for just under $200 when I first got my car. I also bought one a few months ago for about 9 bucks...I wouldn't say one is better than the other. They are the same thing...and no they won't break, crack, or whatever...They aren't holding the entire car together guys.
