strong exhaust smell frm engine bay

the car stinks really bad in the garage after I pull in. I am thinking about replacing the exhaust gasket but not sure if that's the problem...any tips?

Can you actually see any exhaust leaking out? Maybe wait until the morning and look with a flashlight. Do you have a cat on the car?

Arent there better ways to find exhaust leaks other than feeling around?

is there a safe way to make your car smoke, like shoot something into your intake manifold that causes the exhaust to smoke? Then it would be easy to find an exhaust leak.

Your thinking of the smoking method. Yes, you can buy a kit for a pretty penny or rig up a vaccume cleaner to push in smoke, not suck. Fill from the tailpipe and look for the leaks... Though i would just listen for it. You could have cracked manifold, dp gasket, or manifold gasket blown out. Goodluck!
