strange vibration

im not too sure what happened to my car. heres a series of events that may have lead up to this vibration. i bought a large SMIC from ebay, installed it, and fine nothing wrong. no boost problems or anything. next i put a shortshifter in, compliments of ebay. no problem. then i decide im gonna try this torque dampener thing. it was fine...for a while. im a pretty timid driver and dont like high rpm launches..not since my friend blew his m3s diff at the track.
1st problem i was cruising along steadily accelerating from first and my buddy wanted to feel how much lag it actually had. so i punch it in the middle of 2nd gear acceleration, and the exhaust picth changed..kinda like when i hit fuel cut but without the jerking back. i thought it was wierd. so i did it again and checked out my boost. it was fine 11 pounds of boost, but it still made that sounds. i decided to go home and check on the mods i made on my car and came across your opions on the dampener so i took it off. just for fun i did the same thing in my car with it off. it made the same sound but this time my boost was kinda fluttering. it was at 11 but it was fluttering. thats a whole nother problem. i just threw that in there in case anyone knew anything about it.
2nd problem im on my way to work and im at a stop light wehre there is an incline. light turns green i go and a sort of grinding sound is made and i can feel a vibration in my seat. also during heavy acceleration, which im not doing much of now, i can feel the same vibration in my seat. any ideas?
thanks,
loren

1st question, ??

2nd question:
Engine misalignment (broken or loose motor mounts) will cause the grinding noise - the shifter touches the body and transmits vibration from the engine & trans.
