Strange interior part?

I realize this belongs in the Interior section, but I think I can get a better answer here. I grabbed a few goodies off a crushed RHD FD. What really caught my eye was this Coin and Card holder. It looks like it came stock and it still works.

Any clue?

I also got a R1 trunk cover, a rear panel for the trunk (plastic piece that always breaks!), some switches and speaker grills. I am going back tomorrow for more, hopefully!

That looks like the brackets for a double din cd/md player but instead has been turned into a coin holder. The later driver door trim has coin holders which aren't bad but I don't put many coins in there personally.

I got the rest of it, its pretty stick. I will post full pictures. The stereo mounts to those brackets and the entire assembly mounts to a double din cage with black trim.
