Strange Headlight Issue on FD3

Thought I would find a thread on this but no such luck yet. My passenger side headlight starting messing about today. When you turn them on it comes up a little bit then stops. Other side is fine. When you switch them off it pops right up then goes down? I thought it might be sticky motor or dodgy connection so I pressed the button on the dash to flip it up so I could get a drop of oil around it only to find it was going up and down fine? Then I realised it pops up and down fine if you press the button on the dash but sticks halfway up if you turn the lights on at the stork? Can someone please let me know what's wrong and the fix?!

Cheers
Lee

headlight

Yeah same thing happened to mine. I ended taking out the heahlight unit and the motor. I stripped the motor and found that the little worm gear was completely dry leaving all too stiff. So I greased it and put it back together. I fiddled aroung with the setting on the lift a little as well and put all back in. So far since its been fine.

But did yours only stick when you switched it with the stalk like mine? Would it pop up okay with the button on the dash?

You've probably just got moisture in the motor housing. I know what you're thinking, but it may just be a coincidence. Take it apart, dry it out completely, then put it back together with sealant.

The switches just control current to the motors, not the opening and closing of contact due to position. You'll see what i mean if/when you get it apart.
