Strange fault / Diagnostics
Hello guys,
need a bit of help on this one, was driving my fd to a job a few days ago and it started to feel strange, (after it had a bit of a toe full, nothing major) felt like a slight lack of power and could hear a strange noise almost like a quiet dumping sound that fluttered like tush...tush..tush as the car accelerated.
decided to turn around and head home just to be safe, car wasn't idleing right at junctions so having to heal/toe to keep the revs up a little but as i came across a railway crossing stalled and hasnt started since.
im guessing at a vacume leak since i havent changed my pipes yet. what do you guys reckon.
the car cranks fine and almost starts but never quite gets there.
I also wanted to check what the diagnostics had to say but i have no engine check light, do these exist on JDM cars ?? i have the diagnostics connector , can you attatch a light to there or is a proper diagnostis computer required.
TIA
Glenn

not sure on the problem but there IS a way to read check engine light codes, pop the hood and open the little box that says "diagnostics"
jump the connectors (it'll say on there, i believe it's 1 and 10) and then you can proceed to checking for codes.

BTW i think this should be in the FAQ section for all the non-us FD owners on here.
