Strange Engine Behavior?

So I was cruising in 4th gear when the car was warming up this morning. I'm sure that I kept the rpm between 1500-2000 since I didn't floor it. But right after I shifted into 4th, the rpm automatically revved up from 1500-2000 to 3000. I was like WTF? I swear I didn't floor it to 3000. Then I went onto the highway in 5th, same thing happened. I'm not sure it will happen again, hopefully it wont.

Oh I forgot to mention that the rpm didn't stay at 3000. It came back down to normal immediately.

Maybe your clutch is slipping. It seems those rpms are about when boost is starting to build, and if it happened right after a shift both times, it could be the clutch slipping a little. Just a thought.
