Strange electrical prob

last night i was driving and whenever i started from a stop of shifted gears a little hard all the lighs on the dash would get really bright for just that split second. or if i'm in first or second and i keep bliping the gas to get the car to jerk it would do this bright flashing over and over anyone know where i could start liiking as far as connections go?

You might want to check your battery voltage at idle vs. at higher revs. It sounds as though you aren't getting full voltage at low revs, meaning maybe the alternator is only charging at higher revs.

i'm getting spikes on my power fc as high as 16.5v but at cruizing it's at 13.8 only when i'm on and off the throttle does it spike.

Yep, Hyperite probably has it right. Spiking to 16.5 volts sounds much like the voltage regulator.

However, are you sure the connections to your battery posts are solid? The battery should act like a big capacitor and filter spikes from the alternator. A resistance there could "unload" the alternator, allowing it to spike.

the bat is relocated i recently purchased a new battery, it's an orbital dry cel bat. i checked the connections and they are clean and free of any contact with anything so i dont know, maybe the starter needs to be checked but i dont think that would cause this.
