strange clutch transmission noise

Hi guys, ive been driving my rx7 for the last few weeks and have noticed of got a strange noise comming from either the transmission or the clutch. ill describe in as much detail as possible and see if any of you clever cookies can give me an idea.
right here goes,,,,, The noise im hearing sounds like a dry bearing noise (sounds a bit like when you got a free flowing air filter,,,like a rush of air but not as loud),,,,when i set off in first gear the noise isnt there, it happens when i change into either 2nd 3rd or 4th gear,,, say im driving along in 2nd then i change to 3rd gear the noise will start as soon as i shift into 3rd,,, it only seems to last for a few seconds then seems to quite down,,, until i shift gear again.

its definatly not the engine as its just been rebuilt and doesnt do the noise if i rev it up on the spot with the clutch pedal pressed to the floor ,, im thinking either my gearbox needs some work,,,or maybe clutch release bearing,, or maybe that flywheel pilot bearing?
any ideas thanks guys

the noise only happens when you depress the the clutch? my guess would be a thorw out bearing .

Question

Hi everyone,

Just would like to dig out this old thread. I just bought an FD and I have the exact same noise at idle, it stops when I push the clutch pedal down.

I've used a bit the search function and found out it might be the throw-out bearing.

Ok, anyone can confirm this?

Shall I ignore it or would it be better to have this fixed?

Thanks
