Just for the winter?

1. Release/Don't use the parking brake
2. Disconnect the battery

Be sure to add some gas stabilizer to the tank. I would also change the oil. If you want to be more thorough, you can even put the car up on jack stands to prevent any issues with the tires (probably overkill!).

You will want to frequently check the car for any signs of "infestation"....mice, etc.

Hmm..Never thought about releasing the E brake. Is that just to prevent the cable from stretching?

Yes, it is.

You could also drain all the fluids. It depends on how much you are willing to do.

If I were you, I would just start the car up 1 once a week, and let it run for 1 min., the just take it around the block a few times. That way, you don't have to do any maintence (except get gas if you need it).

I'd also recommend starting the car up, letting it get fully warm and then turning it off or spinning around the block a few times. I'm taking mine off insurance though to save a little cash so I can't drive far.
