I have a pair of Stoptech ST-60 6 piston calipers that were on a vehicle I had a while back and removed when the vehicle was no longer usable. Is there any reason I should not consider finding or having an adapter made to be able to use these on the front of the FD?

 

You'll just need to consider balance with piston area relative to whatever your rear setup is. The typical StopTech front kit uses the ST40, which, unless your ST60 has super small piston sizes, would normally add up to less area.

Be sure to factor in the rotor diameter (believe the correct term is average diameter) as this will partially determine how much torque can be generated at the rotor when combined with a certain caliper piston area.

I would look to the documentation to find the above information.

If you want to go crazy you can start with determining the ideal brake curve for the chassis and start working from there like the OEMs do.
