Stock turbos???
hey..
I'm new to the club.. I just got a JDM FD and, I was just wondering...How much boost is safe to run on my stock twin turbo setup?? The only mods I have on it right now is an Apex'i N1 cat back and twin filter intakes...
also...is it possible to cancel out the air pump to gain a few hp?
let me know...
thanks

I dont believe taking off the air pump will yield any power gains but as far as boost, I dont think it's advisable to run above the stock 10 psi until a ecu/intercooler upgrade.

Yes and no.
Yes you can remove the airpump. No you won't gain any power doing so.

Suggest you read some of the links in the newb stickie at the top of this forum. You'll find a lot of basic information that will help you tremendously with the car. You'll be a lot better off getting to know the car (that means driving it for a while too, in order to understand how it behaves) before you jump into the deep end headfirst and start going crazy modifying it.

I agree with the above statement on reading the stickies. PLEASE do A LOT of reading before you start going and messing with the car. Messing with the boost soon after buying an FD and not knowing anything about the car is the death of MANY motors and unhappy new FD owners.... Personally I reccommend you do some extesnsive reading before touching ANYTHING on the car. Learn to really enjoy it before you start modding....
