Stock Shifter new bushings?

Am I just being an idiot or what? Does the stock shifter come apart to replace the top bushing and ruber seal or are you supposed to just slide it on over the top?

You're talking about that seal with the 3 bolt holes that fits tight to the shifter, right?

Yeah, I pretty much had to tear off the old seal. Then use a little PB blaster to lube the new seal and pull it on over the top.
